Obama Uses Teleprompter for Press Conference Today (9-10-2010)

Rush reported this today:

RUSH: “Why… is… he… uh… talking… uh… this… way? He’s even got a teleprompter in there and he’s still talking like that. He’s putting a period not at the end of every sentence, but at the end of every word. I’m talking about Obama and this abomination of a press conference.”

Thanks Rush for doing what the old media should have.

Childhood to Mid-Life:
Main article: Early life of George W. Bush
George Walker Bush was born in New Haven, Connecticut, on July 6, 1946, the first child of George H. W. Bush and Barbara Bush (née Pierce). He was raised in Midland and Houston, Texas, with his four siblings, Jeb, Neil, Marvin and Dorothy. Another younger sister, Robin, died from leukemia at the age of three in 1953.[23] Bush’s grandfather, Prescott Bush, was a U.S. Senator from Connecticut.[24] Bush’s father, George H. W. Bush, served as U.S. Vice President from 1981 to 1989 and U.S. President from 1989 to 1993. Bush is of primarily English and German descent, and also has distant Welsh, Irish, French and Scottish ancestry.[25]

Bush attended public schools in Midland, Texas until the family moved to Houston after he completed seventh grade. He then went to The Kinkaid School, a prep school in Houston, for two years.[26]

Bush finished his high school years at Phillips Academy, a boarding school (then all-male) in Andover, Massachusetts. Bush attended Yale University from 1964 to 1968, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in history.[29] During this time, he was a member of Delta Kappa Epsilon, being elected the fraternity’s president during his senior year.[30][31] Bush also became a member of the Skull and Bones society as a senior.[32] Bush was a keen rugby union player, and was on Yale’s 1st XV.[33] He characterized himself as an average student.[34]

Beginning in the fall of 1973, Bush attended the Harvard Business School, where he earned an MBA. He is the only U.S. President to have earned an MBA.[35]

Texas Air National Guard:

Lt. George W. Bush while in the Texas Air National Guard. In May 1968, Bush was commissioned into the Texas Air National Guard.[36] After two years of active-duty service while training,[37] he was assigned to Houston, flying Convair F-102s with the 147th Fighter Interceptor Group out of Ellington Air Force Base.[36][38]

In late 1972 and early 1973, he drilled with the 187th Tactical Reconnaissance Group of the Alabama Air National Guard, having moved to Montgomery, Alabama to work on the unsuccessful U.S. Senate campaign of Republican Winton M. Blount.[41][42] In October 1973, Bush was discharged from the Texas Air National Guard and transferred to inactive duty in the Air Force Reserve. He was honorably discharged from the Air Force Reserve on November 21, 1974, at the end of his six-year service obligation.

And the leftists were jealous of his father, George H. W. Bush:

George Bush married Barbara Pierce on January 6, 1945, only weeks after his return from the Pacific. Their marriage produced six children: George Walker Bush (born 1946), Pauline Robinson Bush (“Robin”, 1949–1953, died of leukemia), John Ellis “Jeb” Bush (born 1953), Neil Mallon Bush (born 1955), Marvin Pierce Bush (born 1956), and Dorothy Bush Koch (born 1959).[8]

Bush had been accepted to Yale University prior to his enlistment in the military,[9] and took up the offer after his discharge and marriage. While at Yale, he was enrolled in an accelerated program that allowed him to graduate in two and a half years, rather than four.[9] He was a member of the Delta Kappa Epsilon fraternity and was elected president. He also captained the Yale baseball team, and as a left-handed first baseman, played in the first two College World Series.[9] As the team captain, Bush met Babe Ruth before a game during his senior year. Late in his junior year he was, like his father Prescott Bush (1917), initiated into the Skull and Bones secret society. He graduated as a member of the Phi Beta Kappa from Yale in 1948 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics.[10]

George Herbert Walker Bush (born June 12, 1924) was the 41st President of the United States (1989–1993). He was also Ronald Reagan’s Vice President (1981–1989), a congressman, an ambassador, and Director of Central Intelligence.

Bush was born in Massachusetts to Senator and New York Banker Prescott Bush and Dorothy Walker Bush. Following the attacks on Pearl Harbor in 1941, at the age of 18, Bush postponed going to college and became the youngest aviator in the US Navy at the time.[1] He served until the end of the war, then attended Yale University. Graduating in 1948, he moved his family to West Texas and entered the oil business, becoming a millionaire by the age of 40.

Jealous of father and son U.S. Presidents:

Since they were Republicans, the leftist media made no big deal about having father and son Presidents. Not a big deal to them because they were jealous.

How jealous they were of President Reagan. I could go on and on, but I’ll stop with this one:

Dear President Obama:

Deficit From Bush Was Really Created by Senator Obama/Democrat Congress

This is a great lesson to understand as we enter the fall
elections. Politicians on both sides have a way of making things sound
good, and even though true, are very misleading. Progressives are
killing this country, and we need to change course, but let’s make sure
we are dealing with a full deck. Don’t believe everything you hear.
Check it out before making up your mind. We will be deciding this
country’s financial future…………

The Washington Post babbled again today about Obama inheriting a huge
deficit from Bush. Amazingly enough, a lot of people swallow this
nonsense. So once more, a short civics lesson…

Budgets do not come from the White House. They come from Congress, and
the party that controlled Congress since January 2007 is the Democrat
Party. They controlled the budget process for FY 2008 and FY 2009, as
well as FY 2010 and FY 2011. In that first year, they had to contend
with George Bush, which caused them to compromise on spending, when Bush
somewhat belatedly got tough on spending increases.

For FY 2009 though, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid bypassed George Bush
entirely, passing continuing resolutions to keep government running
until Barack Obama could take office. At that time, they passed a
massive omnibus spending bill to complete the FY 2009 budgets.

And where was Barack Obama during this time? He was a member of that
very Congress that passed all of these massive spending bills, and he
signed the omnibus bill as President to complete FY 2009.

If the Democrats inherited any deficit, it was the FY 2007 deficit, the
last of the Republican budgets. That deficit was the lowest in five
years, and the fourth straight decline in deficit spending. After that,
Democrats in Congress took control of spending, and that includes Barack
Obama, who voted for the budgets. If Obama inherited anything, he
inherited it from himself.

In a nutshell, what Obama is saying is I inherited a deficit that I
voted for and then I voted to expand that deficit four-fold since
January 20th.

Will the Libs Blame Moon Shrinkage on “Global Warming?”

Moon is shrinking, say astronomers
(AFP) – 2 days ago

WASHINGTON — The Man in the Moon has become the latest victim of contraction in the housing market.

Astronomers reporting on Thursday in the US journal Science said they had found previous undetected landforms which indicate that Earth’s satellite has been shrinking… albeit by only a tiny amount.

The intriguing features, called lobate scarps, are faults created when the Moon’s once-molten interior began to cool, causing the lunar surface to contract and then crinkle, they said.

Relative to the Moon’s age, estimated at around 4.5 billion years, the contraction is recent, occurring less than a billion years ago, and is measured at about 100 metees (325 feet).

Lobate scarps were first spotted near the lunar equator in the 1970s by panoramic cameras aboard the Apollo 15, 16 and 17 missions.

Fourteen new faults have been been spotted in high-resolution images taken by NASA’s Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter.

The new discoveries show that the scarps are globally distributed and not clustered in equatorial regions, and this provides powerful evidence for the contraction scenario.

The investigation was headed by Thomas Watters of the Center for Earth and Planetary Studies at the Smithsonian Museum’s National Air and Space Museum, Washington.

AP To Staff: ‘Don’t Call It The Ground Zero Mosque’

By Alex Alvarez on Aug 20, 2010 10:56 AM

The Associated Press has given its writers and editors a definitive set of guidelines for how to refer to the Islamic center and mosque in downtown New York. You may recall that The Upshot recently took a look at how different outlets were choosing to refer to the Park51 project, at a time when several of these outlets were inaccurately calling it the “Ground Zero mosque.” The AP had noted in its articles that the mosque was two blocks from where the World Trade Center towers once stood, but had described it as the “Ground Zero mosque” in headlines. Now, that’s about to change.

In a memo to staff, AP deputy managing editor for standards and production Tom Kent writes:

We should continue to avoid the phrase “ground zero mosque” or “mosque at ground zero” on all platforms. (We’ve very rarely used this wording, except in slugs, though we sometimes see other news sources using the term.) The site of the proposed Islamic center and mosque is not at ground zero, but two blocks away in a busy commercial area. We should continue to say it’s “near” ground zero, or two blocks away.

He also includes various alternate options:

• mosque 2 blocks from WTC site• Muslim (or Islamic) center near WTC site

• mosque near ground zero

• mosque near WTC site

We can refer to the project as a mosque, or as a proposed Islamic center that includes a mosque.
